Our Mission Statement

Through the efforts of volunteers and in consultation with the Summer Village of White Sands Council, our goal is to enhance the community and offer social activities to residents and land owners of White Sands.

The White Sands Community Hall Society was formed to manage the funds which are derived from the donation of bottles/cans left by White Sands residents.  We operate separately from the Village Council but work with them in the betterment of our community.

The Objectives of the Society are:

  1. To maintain accounting for all income from bottle and can donations and any other donations made to the society.

  2. to provide opportunities for social activities within the White Sands community.

  3. To provide resources to manage the Society's fund-raising efforts.

  4. To provide funding for equipment to carry out social activities and to enhance the community.

Bottle Donations

If residents wish to donate their empty bottles and cans, there is a bin in the parking lot of the Community Hall beside the garbage dumpsters. We have a group of volunteers who sort the bottles and cans which are then picked up by the Bottle Depot. The monies received from the Bottle Depot are then given to the Hall Society who manages these revenues.

Your continued donations are greatly appreciated.

** This is a Volunteer initiative and we are grateful for their dedication to keeping it organized.

Beside the Bottle sorting shed and behind the cardboard recycle bin is another shed where you can leave household items you no longer need or pick up items you can use. The shed is always open. Donations can include dishes, games, books, toys, life jackets, etc. Anything that is in re-useable condition.

We ask that you DO NOT leave linens and clothing – these should be placed in the Diabetes Donation box outside the Take It or Leave It Shed.

PLEASE DO NOT leave broken furniture (indoor or outdoor), appliances, TV’s, computers, printers, lawn mowers, BBQ’s, mattresses, canoes.  THESE MUST BE DISPOSED OF AT THE LANDFILL.
